Ben is a Partner in the corporate and commercial division of the firm.
Ben practises corporate and commercial law and works closely with the firm’s other Partners in the commercial litigation division in restructuring and work out transactions.
Ben has particular expertise and extensive experience in providing advice to listed corporations, unlisted public and private companies, as well as non-profit organisations on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters including the drafting and negotiation of contracts, business structures, joint ventures, the purchase and sale of business assets, businesses and companies including earn outs, corporate law matters (including compliance with the Corporations Act and the ASX Listing Rules), business financing and securitisation (including IPOs), corporate reconstructions, business succession, intellectual property commercialisation, protection and licensing, trusts and trade practices matters.
Ben has also previously worked in the legal division of a “big four” accounting firm, as well as at legal offices in Hong Kong and Shanghai. He is fluent in both spoken and written Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese dialects), and has advised Australian clients on doing business in China, and Chinese clients on doing business in Australia. He has also represented Australian and other international clients in contractual negotiations with Chinese government agencies and business enterprises involving projects of various sizes in China.
Ben holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce.
