Matthew has more than 20 years’ experience in commercial dispute resolution and litigation, including in banking and finance, trade practices, insolvency, contract and other commercial areas, for a wide range of clients including listed and private companies, professional firms and registered liquidators and trustees.

In his early time in practice Matthew honed his litigation skills in criminal law acting for notorious criminals and rogues. From there Matthew moved into more sophisticated areas of complex commercial and insolvency litigation.

Matthew’s sporting background as an elite Australian triple jump athlete gives him a good grounding and understanding in acting in the sports law area, in particular for an AFL Club in all areas from tussling with the AFL on sponsorship deals to advising on appearances at the AFL Tribunal.

Matthew holds a Bachelor of Economics and a Bachelor of Laws.
